Get to Know Dr. Nikkolai Sales
Originally from Naga City, Philippines, Dr. Nikkolai Sales strives to provide comprehensive and comfortable care so that patients can achieve the vision they deserve. One of his favorite things about his work is being able to use different technologies to allow him to practice various specialties, such as myopia control and glaucoma management. Other than utilizing advanced tools, he also enjoys getting to meet patients and building relationships while creating a positive difference in their lives.
Where Did You Study Optometry?
Dr. Sales first attended San Jacinto College before studying at the University of Houston College of Optometry for his doctorate. Throughout his undergraduate studies, he used to work as a lab tech at a private practice. During optometry school, his externship rotations included Cedar Springs Eye Clinic (which specialized in ocular disease) and Plaza Vision Center (which emphasized specialty contact lenses. Today, he remains dedicated to learning more every day so that he can offer the best care possible for his patients.
What Are Your Interests and Activities Outside the Optometry Clinic?
Whenever he isn’t at the office, Dr. Sales typically spends time with his family, who he sees as a central role in his life for their unwavering support. Other than helping others, he enjoys hobbies like basketball, pickleball, working out, eating out, and playing video games. He was also always fascinated with astronomy—which is why he considers the movie “Interstellar” to be one of the best movies of all time!
